Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

Prompt Response: The guardian in my life who has been the strictest when it comes to discipline is my grandmother. She was always the one to effectively discipline me and my sister when we did not use proper manners or got in trouble. She rightfully disciplined us fair as she pointed out our mismanners when it came to talking to elders or properly speaking to others as well as cleaning. My grandmothers discipline made me more respectful to others and take into account others feelings. It has also taught me to act more effectively when it came to responsibilities like school, work, or keeping up with the house.

Summary: During class we continued to look over the story "Rockiple" by James Baldwin. We continued to work on our group projects. As well as complete our own parts of it with the paper.

Reflection: The times my grandmother has discipline me I deserved it but I rarely got disciplined because we were raised in a respectful household where we were mindful of others peace. Now that I no longer live with her as I only did for elementary she still has a big part in my life. When I do visit my grandparents I came mindful of how to respect others when around them and to be caring.

tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.
