Write about something that you believed as a child.

Prompt Response: Something I believed as a child was the elf on the shelf. I believed in this as I couldn't make up in my little mind how he moved everytime. I would monitor my mother yet he would still move which is why I believed that he was actually alive. This belief brought many laughs and tears as I got frustrated because I couldn't prove it was my mother during that time.

Summary: In class today we watched examples of ethos, pathos, and logos being used in ads. We identified as a class each example and how rhetoric is used. We also talked about who the audience is for each one. After that we started on a vocab assignment.

Reflection: I reflected on the different answers when watching the ads. I saw how each ad was its rhetoric and the reasoning behind each. I now understand this topic more thoroughly.

tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.
