The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

Prompt Response: A moment when new information changed my perception of someone was when I was told that my friend thought that I was attacking her for sharing how I felt about a certain thing she did in a respectful manner. This made my perception of her negative as I thought she would be mature and acknowledge the things she did but instead it was the complete opposite. My perception of her is now not in a good light as I was completely taken back from her reaction because I considered her a friend. This re-shaped my understanding as I now know that I can not take it personally and that people may not even try to understand sometimes which is okay.

Summary: During the class time we completed a quiz based on the story we read. We did this in groups.

Reflection: As I reflect on the quiz today it was a good thing that we were able to work in groups. It was challenging but we did get the 100.

tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.
