Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

 Prompt Response: To describe my own mind I would use the metaphor of clouds in the sky. My thoughts come and go. They never sit for too long or I tend to overthink. When I overthink it would compare to rain in the metaphor. This is because overthinking may cause inner struggles.  Reflectioon/Summary: Was absent. 

Myth Presentation

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

 Prompt Response:  I would like to go and travel to a different country as my adventure. I would like to visit Japan and walk up their mountains. As well as learning the culture to various different countries.My adventure would just consist of jumping to different countries and learning about each of them.  Reflection: I reflected on the rest of the theme's in the presentations. As well as analyzing the poem we reviewed in class with discussion questions after.  Summary: Today in class we finished presentations and took notes. We reviewed and analyzed the meaning of a poem. 

Describe something you will never fully understand.

Prompt response: Something I will never fully understand are the behaviors of this generation. I can understand where certain feelings and emotions derive from I just cant understand the choice behind it. For example I don't understand why people cheat or have the player mentality trying to be nonchalant. I can understand the emotional aspect of it but not the choice as there are better ways to regulate your emotions with self reflection and work.  Summary: Today in class students shared their presentations of their origin myths.  Reflection: I got to see everyones origin myths presentations and reflect on the themes chosen. 

Write about something that you wish you had more of.

 Prompt Response:  I wish I had more of the skill of understanding the things in the world around me. I think its always important to have the mind set of learning to understand. I wish more of this as its important to nurture my mind in academics but as well as understanding people and why things are.One of my aspirations is to travel all over the world so its an important skill to have as you see different cultures and religions as I already personally know the negative impacts of misunderstanding a person.  Summary: Today in class we just worked on finishing our Origin myth posters in Adobe.  Reflection: I got to work on my poster and reflect on my story. 

What is the most creative thing you have ever made?

 Prompt Response: The most creative thing I have every made was a painting. It was a moon and sky painting representation of Romeo and Juliet in the star night sky up in space. It stands out as my best work as it was visually my best painting. It captivated the most people out of all my creative creations.  Summary: In class we worked and finished the origin story myth. Then we worked on a poster to represent our stories. We used Adobe express platform to work and complete this.  Reflection: I started to create my creative poster and reflect on my story is becoming physically visual to see in order to interpret.  

Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

 Prompt Response: Two questions I have about life is "Is there life on other planets in other galaxies?" and "Is the concept of time an illusion in this life? " The first question matters to me as I have always wondered if humans were created else where in the world since I see our world as stained and sorrowful. The second question matters to me as I see this life as temporary but the soul eternal.   Summary: Today in class we organized our original orgin myths. We went over the criteria and an example in class. We also started the actual writing part.  Reflection: I reflected on the components of a origin myths while writing my own.

Describe a time you felt completely lost.

 Prompt Response: A time I felt completely lost was deciding what I wanted from my life. This topic of what I want from my life is something I can always change but I felt lost as I didn't know what I wanted to do career wise but I came to a conclusion what I wanted out of my life. Not having dreams besides wanting basic income stability with a job that can provide for that had me feeling lost as I want something fulfilling for my life. When I decided about the things I want out of my life I didn't feel so lost as I know it doesn't matter how I get there I just know I would like to do this thing.   Summary: Today in class everyone shared their presentations on "The Jealous Father". Everyone had different topics to analyze and aspects that were thought into a deeper perspective.  Reflection: I learned about the different aspects and information that everyone had in their presentations.

 Prompt Response: I have adapted to this course by always checking daily for blogs and any other assignments listed in canvas. One strength that I anticipate moving forward in this course is being able to easily understand the content given when it comes to analyzing certain things. A challenge I anticipate is the workload varying especially in the other classes and how that will effect my performance in this one. Other than that I don't anticipate any challenges as I know to check for daily work and ask questions when needed to understand.  Summary: Today in class we took a origin story myth about a red robin. In this test we evaluated its purpose and answered various questions relating to the story. As well as continue to work on our group project presentations.  Reflection: Today was a good work day to finish my part on the group presentations. 

Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

 Prompt Response: One situation in my life is when my little sister was jealous of me since I was able to attain a way of making my own pocket money as I got a job. She was jealous of the fact that I could spend whatever I want with my money even though I didn't. This negatively affected our relationship as should would always get annoyed at me for not buying her something or giving her a free 5 dollars. This was just a small sibling disagreement.  Summary: As a class we read " The Jealous Father" in our groups. My group the Moral Messengers identified the Moral lesson of the story, analyze how this is moral lesson is conveyed through the plot, the relevance, and creating a visual representation.  Reflection: I learned about a myth called " The Jealous Father" and analyzed the moral lesson of the story in my group. 

Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story

 Prompt response: One meaningful object that carries a story that is important to me is my grandmothers original wedding ring that she gifted me. This ring holds a significant story to my life as it is proof of my grandparents love for each other. As I was gifted the ring hearing the story of how my grandfather found the courage to marry my grandmother after knowing each other for a while was very meaningful. My sister and I can always laugh back on the story everytime we think of the ring in our display of jewerly.  Summary: We read the Navajo creation myth. This myth had biblical allusions throughout the story. We concluded that the theme of the story was that the Creator or these divine beings went through a lot trying to rest on a world good enough for their creations of humans. The ending line supports this as it tells us the Creator teaches the humans these different things to live.  Reflection: I read an example of a native American myth that had examples of biblic...

Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.

 Prompt Response: A time I felt connected to nature was during a summer in elementary school as I was outside while the sun was setting. I could start to see the glowing lights of fireflies. Following the fireflies in every direction I could it made me reflect on how beautiful nature can be . This made me feel a sense of connection with nature as I appreciated it's beauty all around me.  Summary: We learned and went over a overview of American literature specifically Native American literature speaking on myths, their values, and theme.  Reflection: I learned some of the characteristics of origin myths.
