 Prompt Response: While on break I mostly rested by staying in the house. I also worked on the break and hanged out with friend. I went over to hang out with friends to play basketball and play group games. During break I got ahead in summer applications for programs and cleaned.  Summary: During the class period we read a poem by Maya Angelou for black history month. After that we got a sheet with a metaphor and simile side. We as a group at our tables had to identify each. Then we explained what each one meant. At the end as a class we went over our answers and had a open discussed.  Reflection: The poem was interesting to read. The video of her was also interesting learning that Maya Angelou was a dance and worked operating a bus. The poem showed that she was not afraid to express herself. 

 Prompt Response: The comments on my poster were very positive. Most of them commented on my creativity as well as my formatting which was different. Many of the comments thought that it was colorful and appealing. I feel confident in my creative choices after seeing the comments. I learned to trust myself in the process of trying to be creative.  Summary: During the class period we watched the news. The topics were on A.I. in schools specifically college. They covered the issues the come with it and showed the difficulty for university leaders to find a balance. We then answered questions based on the news we watched. After that the class looked at each others posters and commented positive things on each one.  Reflection: Watching the news was very interesting. For the most part I agreed with the students attending college.  Prompt Response: In order to create the examples you had to reflect on your life and feelings. Most of the topics had to do with situations with interacting with yourself and the world around you. It was hard as we did not have to overthink with the examples and it can be something more common. While writing my figurative language I learned that I tend to overthink my examples and wonder if they are not good enough creative wise. I tried to make sure they were more creative so I can represent them better when we do a presentation.  Summary: During the class time we wrote multiple similes and metaphors on various topics. The topics were centered around oneself and what one has gone through. The topics required deep thought in created the the rhetorical devices. We reviewed our metaphors and simile's in our groups to make sure they were good.  Reflection: The process was fun. I could think deeply about these.  Prompt Response: The topic that was most challenging was "Doubt or Criticism". The reason for this is because its hard trying to compare my thought process with doubt since it varies on how doubt creeps in. This also applies with how I take criticism. I worked through the challenged by seeing if there's any common situations that can compare to what I feel when I face doubt or criticism. I ended up choosing to associate it with my success and how it will go.  Summary: During the class period we created a presentation for our 6 metaphors and simile's. On the board each example had to be present and with explanations. As well as visuals for each example for better understanding of the rhetorical device.  Prompt Response: If I had to pick 3 objects to show how I love it would be headphones, food, and handwritten cards. The headphones would represent my love for music and how I want to share that with others as it can express what I feel. Food is something I would share to show my love as food brings people together with many cultures.
