Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response: I moment when I stopped to appreciate nature was when I was walking to the bus in the morning. As I was walking it was very bright outside as the sun was coming up and I took a moment to watch the sun and its rays. I noticed the birds flying around in the sky which was something to take in.It made me change my perspective to take things slowly as I was previously stressed only focused on school.  Summary: During class we went and annotated another poem written by Robert Frost. Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt Response: A time in my life when something changed more quickly than I expected was when I moved. We moved quicker than I thought and had to take all the good memories in. This connects to the poem as the "Gold" described represents my old home which goes away. The poem describes change which this situation is one example and provides this change with the change of seasons.  Summary: During class we reviewed the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost. We discussed as the class the tone, theme, examples of imagery, and the cycle of seasons. Then in table groups we did the same thing with the poem, "The Road not Taken" filling out the paper. tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response: My favorite word right now would be "bewildered". The reason for this is because I find myself using it more especially now that I am back in highschool to describe my reaction to things happening around me. I find it right to use as I hear and see things that don't make sense to me for people to be either particpating in or advocating for.  Summary: During class today we spent the entire work period finishing and completing our power point presentations. After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response: A time when focus was highly demanded of me was when I took my first drive as the driver inside the car. This demanded my complete focus as a vehicle can be described as something uncontrollable if not focused . It was a risky sitation since it was my first time and I could have potentially gotten others hurt as I wasnt the only person on the road and my mother was also in the passenger seat.  Prompt Response: A moment where I had to step out of my comfort zone was in the beginning of last years mock trial season. The reason I was uncomfortable was because in the club I had to use public speaking skills which I hadn't fully become confident in. Especially during the time before we hadn't received our case I had to get use practicing talking out loud to the jury when doing direct questions along with cross examination at the podium. As I gradually became more and more involved with the club the more confidence I gained.  Summary:As a class we read the passage "Ambush". Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

Prompt Response: A thing I have always been curious about is what else could be residing in the ocean. The reason I am curious about that is because humans have explored a small percentage of the Earths oceans. It is only around 20% that has been explored by humans. This makes me curious as something truly mind changing can be hidden from us.  Summary: In class we went over an example of what we will be writing. We then spend the whole class time completing an assignment on writeable. We wrote about the stance we took and had to back it up with 2 pieces of evidence as well as create a counter claim.
