 Prompt Response: In my group we collaborate on which tasks will be best for everyone. As members we communicate which part everyone would take then proceed to assing from there. At the end of working we come together to share our work for everyone to see and check over. While in a group we hold each other accountable by helping each other when the task may seem a lot. As a group we check in and make sure to ask if everyone is doing fine.  Summary: Absent. During the class period we worked on the assignment in writeable with out groups.  Reflection: Throughout this process it has been going well within my group. I think our communication is clear even if someone is absent. Everyone still collaborates and seem helpful to one another. My group is efficient and makes sure to follow through with the directions. 

 Prompt Response: While selecting and analyzing sources the biggest challenged we face was being timely to make sure we did not take a lot of time picking. We overcame this by splitting the work up and comeing together at the end to share why we picked the source. When it came to my group we had clear communication on how the work will be split up and if we agreeded with the chosen source. We did not have any disagreements since everyone was on the same page.  Summary: During the class period my group got done picking which sources we wanted to keep for our research essay. After that we started working on which pieces of evidence will best prove our point for the research question.  Reflection: The process did not take as long since we communicated how we wanted to go about the process. It was easy to talk to my group about any questions or clarifications. It was very efficient and the process did not seem as hard. 

 Prompt Response: My groups research topic is on Plastic/Cosmetic Surgery. The most compelling issue connected to it is the mental and psychological aspect on why people decide to alter ther appearance out of choice. In the source "Effects of social media use on desire for cosmetic surgery among young women" there was a study conducted on 118 women age 18-29 years. The result was that when viewing young women on social media who have undergone cosmetic enhancements affected young womens desire for cosmetic surgery. The issue is that many people are influenced from social media trends and the beauty standards that are normalized on these type of platforms. This makes people mentallu vulnerable to want to seek out procedures that will physically change them.  Prompt response: Completed the annotated bibliography has changed my understanding of my topic as there are more issues attached to getting plastic surgery. When it comes to this procedure many patients can be misinformed leading to casualties. It's not just about the self esteem that a person has that makes then want to get the procedure done. There is many more components when it comes to a persons decision while being influenced by social media. Prompt Response:  Writing the summary was the most challenging part during the annotated bibliography. The reason is was the most challenging was due to the amount of information in each sources especially the literature reviews that I needed to shortened in a couple of sentences without going into full detail. This challenged helped me grow as a researcher as in the future I know what to look for when wanting to summarize a source. This will help me when writing my my research paper to stay focus on the key points. Summary: During the class period we started our annotated bibliography.  Prompt Response: There were many differences between my sources that I collected. For some of my sources the authors were professors while others were reporters that collected data. My sources also slightly focused on different perspectives of the issue. One focused on the psychological effects of the infleunces while another focused on the misinformation from the influences of wanting to get plastic surgery. These differences helped me better understand that the issues attached to plastic surgery and social media is more than issues pertaining to self-esteem as well as emotional issues.  Prompt Response: This process collecting sources in Galileo was specifically different from past experiences as I had to make sure the sources were from various outlets intentionally. In past experiences using Galileo I did not take as much time intentionally choosing a source from different outlets. Implementing specific search strategies has improved my work as the sources targets by question more as well as makes it easier to prove it. Even though the process may seem long with all the different types I have to find narrowing it down makes it easier.  Prompt Response: The image is criticizing the what the president finds most concerning. As the president he is supposed to care about what is happening to the citizens of the country before any international conflict that America should not be part of. The president should be caring about how citizens are being hurt by the enforced ICE instead of being involved in the Middle East. This also goes with how the big beautiful bill is harming a lot of citizens instead of helping. The source suggest that leaders may use international affairs as a way of distracting citizens from the real issue at hand that are affecting their actual daily lives.  Prompt Response: In the past during research I used more generic terms related to my topics that were assigned. When researching I did not take the time to go into more detail. Creating more specific detailed search phrases help more as it narrow downs the options that pop up compared to just googling. It makes me more focused on my topic targeting the specific prompt inside of slightly providing an idea. This will improve the quality of my research as my audience will be able to get a clear understanding of the topic that I am targeting.  Summary: During the class period we completed the assigned common lit.  Reflection: The common lit was an do able assignment. It focused on the world of hollywood and the American dream attached to it. The research process maybe hard since there were a lot of options that popped up and choosing between which time. When narrowing down between our groups we will have to be even more narrow.

 Prompt Response: My assigned topic was plastic surgery which is difficult to answer since it can be used for different reasons and can be accessed in various ways. This makes it difficult to focus on a single issue with this topic besides from the influence of social media. One viewpoint of plastic surgery is that it can be used to medically treat patients who need it. Another view point is for cosmetic plastic surgery to satisfy a patient on their looks. Many may see this as a good thing to do as it is what the person desires which can lead them to be self confident, while others may see this as detrimental.  Prompt Response: In the past when working on research assignments, I've had troubles working with a group. In a group setting I have to consider everyone's personal stance and how they will present the evidence. While working individually I have control on the order of things presented so they flow. I usually handle this by talking with my group members and making sure that we can find a agreement in which we want to write the research paper and on which stance we want to take.  Summary: During the class period we went over the new section of the course as we were introduced to our research paper.  Prompt Response: If I could plan my spring break with no limitations I would go on a trip to switzerland with my friends. I would want to visit the country for 2 days into spring break and hop around Europe with the next place being London. During the traveling we would visit the grasslands in switzerland and touch the cows as well as swim in the lakes.  prompt response: The desire for Chris McCandless to be independent lend to his death as he tried to live out on his own in Alaska. He quickly learned that hunting on his own was hard as he could not perserve the food myself properly. This fault made his go hungry and led to him being desperate to consume seeds that killed him. A similiar time is when I wanted complete independence when it came to driving. For the most part things went to plan but I did have some mistakes when driving with my mom.  Prompt Response: The movie deepend my understanding of Chris, as I was able to see his raw reactions as they tranlate differently on screen then being described in th book based on his excerpts. In the film I was able to witness his frustrated with the difficulty of gathering food in Alaska. While at the farm he learned from a guy on what to do when hunting and he seemed very optimistic and secure with just those intructions and so seeing him talking to himself as well as yelling really deepens his reality. A similiar time when I saw something visually that changed my perception is when I first read the book Charlie's Chocolate Factory in elementary.  Prompt Response: A relationship where I feel truly understood is with my friendship with Solange. I've known her since elementary school and we grew even more closer during highschool as we stay in the same community now. What makes this relationship strong is that I don't have to over explain myself everytime with her and she can understand my feelings well. I am allowed to express myself.  Prompt Response: A moment where I performed better than I expected was during my spanish test. I did not study or look over the vocab before taking the test. The test was around 30 questions long and multiple choice. Most of the questions I just took an educated guess as I knew some words. In the end I got a A on the test which suprised me.  Summary: During the class period we wrote original sentences with new vocab words. We worked on this for about 20 minutes. After that we read chapter 12 and reviewed it as a class. As we were reading the chapter we took turns answering connection and text analysys questions.  Prompt Response: A moment where my persective of my family changed is when I learned about their struggles they were going through. Before, I percieved my family to be perfect growing up. Now I value them even more as I am even more grateful. This connects to Chris finding out that his parents were not the same in time. I view my family as more human now than before as everyone struggles.  Prompt Response:  Based on the first 40 minutes of the movie, it displays Chris McCandless actions as more reckless. In the movie it does speak on his family issues early on but it seems reckless for right after the dinner to burn his belongings. Even though his actions did seem reckless it was ultimately his choice to do this as he was done with college.  Prompt Response:  My desired SAT score at minimum is a 1250 for now. This would make me qualify for multiple scholarships such as the Zell Miller one. My top three colleges include NCAT, Emory, and UGA. NCAT is a close hbcu and offers a good program for nursing. This would be an ideal option as I would be surrounded with not only like minded people but people of my race. Emory would also be a good option as I am interested in healthcare and it's closer to my home.  Prompt Response: With the time changing again I find it helpful for the sun to stay out later in the day. As someone with after school activities it makes me feel better that the sun will still be out after I am done. I love seeing the sun as much as I can after school as it generally just makes me feel more better.
